“Where we put our effort, energy flows.”
I’ve heard it said so many times: “Where we put our effort, energy flows.”
I believe that to be true. I’ve also lived through seasons where it felt like I was chipping away at something endlessly—yet nothing was moving.
But today… today was different.

Our Yoga Studio 90 location in St. Francisville was surrounded by local business owners and the Chamber of Commerce for its official ribbon-cutting ceremony. As I stood there in the sunshine, I couldn’t help but think back to a time when this was nothing more than a dream—a vision that felt lightyears away.
And then I remembered… March 15, 2020.
I remember turning off the lights in our Baton Rouge studio, not knowing what the next few weeks—or years—would bring. Like so many other small business owners, I thought we’d be closed for a few days. But deep down, my gut told me it would be longer. Much longer. As news spread, our city was gripped with fear. I tried to stay grounded, to keep my family healthy, and to make sense of this new “normal” that felt anything but normal. My phone buzzed constantly with messages from members—“Please, can we come in? We won’t tell anyone.”
But we couldn’t. Everything that brought life—movement, connection, community—was shut down.
I watched the world unravel, and with it, the heartbeat of wellness studios everywhere.
When we finally reopened, everything looked different. People were stuck. People were scared. I was scared too. I did my best to lead, but I often questioned whether we’d ever find our footing again.

Many came back. Some didn’t. But our loyal community—our tribe—showed up. We rallied, we adapted, and we kept moving forward. It was one of the darkest, hardest seasons of my life. I was doing everything in my power to reignite our studio, bring people back to the mat, and rebuild what we had lost.
During that time, I joined a female-only business group—something I’d never done before, even after 12 years in business. But I needed a new room. I needed to be surrounded by other women who were shaking the bushes just like I was—fighting for their businesses and their dreams. I met Leigh moss, founder of Influential Business Women’s Network.

And that’s where I met Caitlin Daniel.
A successful Realtor in beautiful St. Francisville, a mom of two, and a woman full of purpose and energy. She reminded me so much of myself in my early days. She understood the power of what happens on the mat—not just physically, but emotionally and mentally.
After our first Business Women’s Network Retreat, she came to me and said, “Hey, I think I want to get certified by you. I want you to mentor me.”I replied, “Let’s meet for coffee.”
She accepted my invitation, and within 10 minutes, I saw it—like a scene from a movie.
She was going to open the very first expansion of Yoga Studio 90.
It was her moment.
It was our season of growth.
All of that chipping away… all that shaking of the bushes… it expanded my vision, strengthened my faith, and changed me forever.
I’m so incredibly thankful for this part of the journey.
And I’m here to remind you—where you place your efforts, energy flows.
Even when the results aren’t instant.
Even when the season feels heavy and slow.
Trust that your season is coming.
